a retarded outlook on life

"The funny thing about psychos is, they're not gonna skip over you just because you ask, lol. Silly to put on your profile. In fact, it might even have a reverse effect and attract more psychos to you. Not that Im one, but just thought Id warn you of the possibility. I studied abnormal psychology in college and a lot of my writing deals with unseemly characters. The truly scary thing about psychos is they will pretend to be exactly what you want at first only to later on reveal their baser personality. Normal is kinda like their halloween mask. "

So am I a psycho? I don't think so. I have definite personality defects, a very short temper at times, and most of the time feel completely out of sorts with the rest of the world and its machinations. But that does not in itself make me a psycho. But then, who's definition are we useing? In the online dating world Im guessing the term is applied much looser than the clinical definition. Psychosis: "A broad category that describes some of the more severe mental disorders in which the patient's thoughts and deeds no longer meet the demands of reality." According to a textbook on Abnormal Psychology. I guess in the dating realm such traits as
"being overly clingy" or "having too strong an emotional response to rejection or perceived
rejection" would constitute psychotic behavior. To me though, in order to be classified truly
as a Psycho, the rubicon of criminal behavior has to be crossed. Stalking, harassment, threats,
etc, are such behaviors. Not weirdness in itself, or even one time spur of the moment verbal
outbursts, should be considered pyschotic behavior. Only if the pattern persists.

Some people handle the cruelties and walls of reality better than others. Maybe it's reality
that's the true Psycho.
